Palmer Perspective #3

“Every human has four endowments- self awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom... The power to choose, to respond, to change.”
Stephen Covey

William Wallace, in the movie “Braveheart” screamed out at the end, “FREEDOM”.

In Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech I have a dream he elaborates:
“Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

Each one of us does have the power to choose how we will respond to each day. Not only each day but, every person we encounter. We have the glorious freedom to change our situation every day. What is your situation? How can you change it? Because we have been given by our creator an independent will, we all have the power to change our situation. Will you change yours?
